Installing Studio

To use Studio, you will first need to install ROS. ROS should be running on a Linux (Ubuntu / Debian) system, regardless of where you plan on running Studio.

Linux

Studio on Linux currently requires an Ubuntu or Debian-based system. If this is a limitation for you, please let us know.

Download the correct .deb package (amd64 or arm64) for your system architecture, then run:

# make sure to prefix the file name with ./ for a local package
sudo apt install ./foxglove-studio-*.deb

This will automatically configure the apt repository at /etc/apt/sources.list.d/foxglove-studio.list, allowing you to install future updates by simply running:

sudo apt update
sudo apt install foxglove-studio # or `sudo apt upgrade` to upgrade all packages

Windows

Download the .exe package, then double-click to install.

macOS

Download the .dmg package, then drag the Studio app into your Applications folder.
