Foxglove was founded to improve the development experience for robotics teams by bringing high quality tools to the robotics industry. Our mission is to reduce the time to market for our users, and accelerate the robotics revolution.
Our founding team spent years working together at Cruise, where we experienced first-hand the need for high quality infrastructure and tooling in the autonomous vehicles space, and built industry-leading solutions for visualization, data management, simulation, and more.
Foxglove Studio began as a fork of Webviz, a browser-based visualization tool developed at Cruise. While a browser-based tool presented advantages in the Cruise context, we believe building a native application enables us to create a more powerful, extensible, and performant tool that can easily connect to live running robots or a variety of other data sources.
Foxglove Studio is currently optimized for ROS developers, but we feel strongly that developers should be free to choose whichever framework they want — or build one from scratch. We'd love to hear from anyone looking to use Foxglove in non-ROS contexts.
