Defense
The data platform for defense autonomy, deployed on your terms.
Trusted by defense autonomy teams
Deployment
Your data stays inside your security boundary.
Run Foxglove on infrastructure you control. With a self-hosted data plane, message contents never reach Foxglove, and every recording stays in storage you own.
-
Air-gapped and customer-controlled
Teams serving ITAR-sensitive defense customers run Foxglove in self-hosted, air-gapped, and customer-controlled environments that meet their security and compliance requirements.
-
Foxglove never sees your message contents
Run the data plane in your own Kubernetes cluster, on premises or in your cloud. Message contents stay in your infrastructure, and only metadata reaches Foxglove.
-
You own every recording
Keep recordings in your own AWS S3, Google Cloud Storage, or Azure Blob buckets. Foxglove indexes and queries them in place, and never duplicates or moves them.
-
FedRAMP High & IL5
Coming soonRun Foxglove Cloud in a FedRAMP High and IL5 environment for defense programs. The hosted platform stays inside that authorization boundary.

Everything your autonomy team needs, from the range to the debrief.
Live field telemetry
Stream telemetry, video, and commands over WebSocket, or over WebRTC through firewalls and LTE links.
Mission replay
Step through onboard MCAP logs with synchronized video, telemetry, trajectories, and model outputs.
Decision tracing
Build panels for behavior trees, agent configuration, critical events, and internal state.
Operator consoles
Extend Foxglove into a console to monitor fleet status, start logging, and trigger missions.
Sim and field, side by side
Load runs into Comparison Mode and line up a simulation run with a field run on one timeline.
No ROS required
Works with ROS 1, ROS 2, Protobuf, FlatBuffers, and JSON, with SDKs for C++, Python, and Rust.

Frequently asked questions.
Can Foxglove run in self-hosted or air-gapped environments?
Yes, on Enterprise. Teams serving ITAR-sensitive defense customers, like Breaker Industries, run Foxglove in self-hosted, air-gapped, and customer-controlled environments. Enterprise also includes a fully self-hosted embedded viewer. Contact sales to scope a deployment for your program.
Where does our mission data live?
Where your program needs it. Use Foxglove Cloud, keep recordings in your own S3, Google Cloud Storage, or Azure Blob buckets, or run the data plane in your own Kubernetes cluster so message contents stay in your infrastructure.
Do we need ROS to use Foxglove?
No. Foxglove works with ROS 1, ROS 2, Protobuf, FlatBuffers, and JSON schemas, and the C++, Python, and Rust SDK logs and streams from any stack. Shield AI chose Foxglove in part for its ROS-independence.
Can we embed Foxglove in our own autonomy platform?
Yes. Shield AI embedded Foxglove in Hivemind Forge, and it ships with every Hivemind deployment. You can also embed Foxglove using an iframe and build custom panels and extensions for your operators.
Can operators use Foxglove during live field operations?
Yes. Connect to systems over WebSocket on a local network, or over WebRTC with Remote Access through firewalls and LTE links. Scout AI runs its fleet from a custom Foxglove extension to view system state, monitor fleet status, start and stop logging, and trigger missions from a tablet or remotely.
How do we review a mission after the fact?
Log onboard, then replay the recording in Foxglove. Scout AI uploads every mission to S3, converts the logs to MCAP, and replays synchronized video, telemetry, controls, trajectories, and model outputs to investigate issues without recreating the scenario in the field.
What security and compliance standards does Foxglove meet?
Foxglove is SOC 2 Type II and GDPR compliant, encrypts data with TLS 1.2 in transit and AES-256 at rest, and supports SSO with SAML. Enterprise adds custom OIDC and audit logs. FedRAMP High and IL5 are coming soon. See Security for details.
Which defense teams use Foxglove?
Defense teams including Shield AI, Saronic, Scout AI, and Breaker Industries build and operate autonomous systems across air, land, and sea with Foxglove.
