Foxglove Projects is now live, providing every organization with a simple and powerful way to keep data isolated and access tightly controlled. Whether you are building autonomous vehicles, delivery robots, or fleets of drones, Projects lets you decide exactly who sees what, without changing the way you and your teams already work.
Until today, every Foxglove organization shared one pool of recordings, devices, and events. That model works for small teams, but once you grow, or start juggling production, development, and customer‑specific deployments, the risk of individuals accessing data that they don't need to, rises sharply. Projects solve that problem by grouping related resources in self‑contained “mini‑workspaces.”
Admins can spin up additional Projects from the Projects page in seconds. All existing data stays where it is; members keep the permissions they already have. The only change you may need is to include a Project ID when uploading data programmatically—a single extra field that prevents mistakes before they occur.
The isolation happens behind the scenes. Open the Foxglove web or desktop app, switch to the correct Project, and every file you upload or device you register is automatically tagged to that context. Dashboards load just as quickly, queries appear the same, and your existing integrations continue to work.
For power users, pass the Project ID when creating new recordings or devices via the API, and the platform handles the rest. For more details, check out the documentation.
From the Members page, admins can move people in or out of Projects with a click. Members with the user role see only the Projects they are assigned to, while admins retain visibility across their organization. Need to grant an external reviewer temporary insight into a subset of data? Add them to only that Project. When the review window closes, remove them, and all access disappears—no need to hunt through ad-hoc folders or ACLs.
Additionally, because recordings cannot be migrated between projects, you gain strong guarantees about provenance. This one-way boundary prevents accidental data mixing and helps teams keep development artifacts completely separate from production or customer-facing environments, for example.
The difference now is that you can create as many additional projects as your workflows demand. Separate production from development, silo customer data, or stage an experimental data stream without fear of polluting mission‑critical streams.
Projects is available today on every Foxglove enterprise plan. Head to the Projects page, create your first new Project, and experience airtight data isolation—no complex infrastructure, no new tools to learn, just tighter control that scales with your ambition.
